While Georgia has a variety of infamous restaurants, like Lady and Sons and Mama’s Boy, one of the state’s favorite foods is the peach. Well, mostly because the peach is the state fruit.Ever since the 18th century, Georgia has been growing and indulging in this delicious produce. Peach harvesting has produced an income of 33 million in the past: which is impressive since peaches are only for sale 16 weeks out of the 52 weeks in a year. Harvesting and growing of the produce is located in four Georgia locales: Peach, Macon, Taylor and Crawford. The state’s counties produce early harvests, and thus, give Georgia an advantage in selling peaches.Georgia loves its peaches. In-fact, the state even throws a festival in honor of its favorite fruit.
