
Vidalia – August 8, 2009 – September 20, 2009
Vidalia is well-known for its most famous product, the Vidalia Onion. The onion was first produced in 1931; it is grown exclusively in and around Vidalia. The Vidalia Onion was named the official vegetable of Georgia in 1990. Vidalia also produces peanuts and pecans; the town is home to the Vidalia Peanut Company. When heading out of town, stop at Benton Lee’s Steak House in Uvalda for a delicious meal.
